Free Photoshop Videos on YouTube

  • These are some of the Photoshop videos from my YouTube Channel - all are short in length ( 3 to 8 minutes) - and most have access to relevant notes.

  • Some of these videos may seem "older" chronologically - - but like ALL foundational principles (regardless of the discipline), these are still quite relevant today ...

  • By the way, there's lots more videos on my YouTube Video Channel:

BONUS: Additional Free "Photoshop 101" Videos

  • In addition to the "Youtube" videos on this page, find more Photoshop-related videos on my free "Photoshop 101 videos" page. - the videos are considerably longer in length, but much more of a "deep dive", detail-wise - also includes relevant notes ...

Camera RAW 12.3 - Radical Changes to the User Interface

  • This video is 8+ minutes in length.

  • In June of 2020, Adobe made radical changes to it’s Camera RAW plug-ins’ User Interface (UI) – – The new look is completely different.

  • I know, I know – change can be frustrating, and at first, I was indeed skeptical  – but, this new UI is growing on me, and most definitely in a good way.  The more I use it,  the more I’m discovering that there are LOTS of little things that make this a more productive User Interface, compared to the old interface.

Profile Your Monitor with the X-Rite i1 Display Pro

  • This is a 4-part video series, each video averaging about 3 minutes in length - total length of 13+ minutes.

  • There are 3 steps necessary to successful color management – Profiling your Monitor is “Step #1”.  But let’s face it:  the main reasons most people avoid profiling their monitor are because they’ve got to buy something (which is true), and/or they think it’s too complicated (which is not true).

  • The truth is, it can be quite simple to get your monitor to match the output of your photo printer OR favorite custom print lab.  All you need are the right tools, the main one being a Monitor Profiling package, which consists of a piece of hardware called a colorimeter, and the software to go with it.

Photoshop CS6/CC: Setting up your Workspace with Panels

  • This video is 5+ minutes in length.

  • Think of Panels as miniature workspaces, each accomplishing a different function.  There are almost two dozen different panels available to you, but in the spirit of K.I.S.S., I would suggest that you start with just nine, and add those you deem necessary as you gain more experience with Photoshop.

  • Information referenced in this video can be found here:  https://blog.main.wattsdigital.com/?p=1731

Photoshop CS6/CC: The Navigator and History Panels

  • This video is about 6 minutes in length.

  • As you grow in your Photoshop skills, there are a zillion reasons why you’ll need to magnify your image on your computer screen– to check on sharpness, see if your layer mask is accurate, decide cropping, check on digital noise, and so on.

  • But, this can make it really tough to navigate around your image, particularly at larger magnifications.

  • So, there are 3 ways to navigate around a magnified image - they’re all centered on the Navigator Panel and interconnected, as you’ll soon see.

  • Just like the forward and back buttons on your web browser, the History Panel is critical in helping you look at “what-if” scenarios, before-and-after views, make instant corrections on your image, and so much more.

  • By the way, all of this is part of my Photoshop book designed for photographers, “Not just another Photoshop Book”, available exclusively on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HNLS1Q2

  • The Tools Panel and the Color Picker allow easy access to the some of the most commonly used tools and functions in Photoshop.

  • By the way, all of this is part of my Photoshop book designed for photographers, “Not just another Photoshop Book”, available exclusively on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HNLS1Q2
