An excellent question!

First, a wee bit about me: I qualify for the senior's menu at Denny's, and I’m a blessed man, as you can see from the family pictures to the right. 

Although I’m originally from Houston and the Kansas City area, I’ve lived in the San Diego area for over 45 years.  I also love hiking the outdoors, and my “Utopia” is the Sierra Nevada mountain range, where I get to occasionally dabble in photography.  In addition, I’m also a life-long drummer, with the hearing (or lack thereof) that comes with it :) 

I am, at my core, a custom photographic printer, and I’ve been one professionally since the early 1980’s.  I was first dragged kicking and screaming into the digital age (especially by dabbling in Photoshop) in the mid 1990’s - now, I embrace it with a passion.

Over the last 40 years, I’ve been privileged to work in partnership with some of the worlds’ finest photographers, while employing the worlds’ finest photographic printing devices & tools - I have a knack for making superior color prints for these photographers, both professional & serious amateur. I’ve also taken that expertise and applied it to the world of Digital Imaging Education.

It’s safe to say that I’ve learned a few things over the years…

So, the question: Why should you listen to me? The same reason that you listen to your Doctor: Training and Experience. Like your Doc, I’ve learned what generally works and what doesn’t. Also, like your doc, I’m constantly learning new things, and listening to new ideas (A Doctor “practices” medicine, after all!) - hence, this website. 

It's safe to say that the tools I used when I started in this crazy business are NOT the same tools I use now.  As I 'm using newer and more innovative tools and methods to achieve the desired printed result, I’m not only willing to share what I know, but willing to learn from you, also.

It’s an axiom that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks - It’s also a lie!  I’m constantly learning new things everyday!
